A year after Carl Pei left OnePlus, Nothing Technology Limited garnered a further $50 million in investments and became partners with Qualcomm, a multinational company that handles wireless technology services, and owns vital patents for 4G and 5 G, inter alia.

At a press conference, NOTHING unveiled its first smartphone on 23 March 2022, the Nothing Phone 1. The company would go on to open a physical location in Soho, London on the 10th of December that year.

The Nothing Phone 1 has enhanced speed due to its Snapdragon™ 778G+ chipset for better gaming. It keeps going throughout the day so that users can focus on enjoyment without having to stop and charge the device.

Sustainability is provided by its recycled plastic parts (50%), aluminium frame (100%), and fibre packaging. This reduces any negative impact on the environment.

The Nothing Phone 1 comes with three options, which have an impact on the exact price paid for the device. These are eight RAM with either 128 gigabytes of memory or 256 gigabytes of memory, or, thirdly, twelve RAM with 256 gigabytes of memory.

Nothing Phone Release Date

The Nothing Phone 1 was only available to buy on 21 July 2022, despite being released on 23 March 2022. This cost-effective device retailed at £399. The Nothing Phone 2 has been punted as “Premium”, which might see it exceeding the price of the Nothing Phone 1. It is scheduled for release in America in the summer of 2023.
